Your time as a Caterpillar has expired, your Wings are READY

The time is now to break out of that cocoon and show the world your beauty. You've hidden for long enough, it's time for your talent to breathe.

Break free and face your fears head on because they won't leave any other way. Fears are good for driving you towards your dream, they make you feel like that dream isn't attainable, but if you fight the fear instead of let it defeat you, you'll work even harder to get where you want to be.

Success is the difference between courage and coward, which are you? Take a stand for what you believe in, you have to believe it before anyone else will. Stop being your worst critic you are worthy of all the things you desire, never forget that.

So get started now, here's the push you've been waiting for. Put a smile on and roll those sleeves up, make a vision board, create a blueprint. No more excuses or apologies, just do it ! Go ahead and begin the path of your success story, we're traveling different routes but I can't wait to meet you at the top !

Don't Rush Your Progression, Drive Slow Homie

This one's for you, young teenage 'I think I know everything the world has to offer' you. The 'You can't tell me what I already know' you. The 'Fast money is all I know' you. And the 'It's my way or no way' you.

Drive Slow Homie, Ya Never Know Homie You Need To
Pump Ya Breaks and Drive Slow Homie

Here's a news flash you don't know everything, you can't do it by yourself, fast money won't last, and your way isn't always the best way. Whatever you're doing in the fast lane with eventually catch up to you, and trust it won't be pretty. Stop rushing your progression and take your time, a home built without a solid foundation will crumble.

Teenagers, listen to your parent's and elders that give you advice, they aren't telling you anything that will harm you, it's for your own good because they love you; Don't rush to be grown, it's not at all what you envision it to be. Twenty-somethings just because you're out of your teens doesn't mean you are grown, there's still so much to learn in this life, take your time and do it right. Stubborn Thirties, yes you may be more established than your twenties but you don't quite have it all together either, you too can benefit from advice, even if it comes from an unexpected person.

The moral of this post is that no one person can survive alone, and no one knows everything. Everyone needs help and guidance, don't be too egotistical or prideful and miss out on that. Yes the fast life is enticing and seems fun and effortless, but at some point your pace will slow down, and then stop; Let your stop be in your hands and not someone else's, you can change your life, it's never too late. It's better to have a lifetime of gradual blessings than a temporary spurt of 'whatnot's' in the fast lane.

Can't be afraid of heights when you are destined to soar

What is your gift to the world? Now why are you concealing it? Don't be afraid to showcase your talent, it's what you were born to do. Keep trying to run away from it, trust me I know from experience, your destiny will hunt you down.

You will only reach the height you allow yourself to. Be fearless and give it all you've got, your only option is to prosper. There are so many blessings and opportunities that will present itself once you start doing what you love, aren't you ready to receive the fruits of your labor?

So what are you concerns? Most likely the opinions of others right? Well the fact of the matter is people will have an opinion about you regardless, don't let that be the reason you don't attain your dreams. Wanna give them something to talk about? Be great !

Fasten your seat belt and get ready for the ride of your life; your life truly begins when you are doing something you love, just wait and see. Kill those fears and get ready for years of bliss. Be brave, it'll all pay off eventually, and you deserve it. Can't wait to see you at the top !

Don't let your let-down be an excuse to shut-down

It's crazy how one instance, one person, or one decision can alter your life. It could be a plethora of things: job related, relationships, or problems within yourself. Don't let disappointments dictate your destination, you will live in sorrow forever if you do.

Yesterday I did something I have been needing to do, but haven't in a lonnngggg time... go to church. With the current events in my life, primarily trying to practice patience until God sends me my perfect job, and dealing with temporary people exiting my life, I needed some uplifting.

It's funny that I give you all inspiration daily, but I also need to be refueled as well. Often times I take from my personal experience as well as those around me in hopes that you all will grow with me, and hopefully can avoid things by learning from others experiences.

Needless to say, the sermon he preached was as if God spoke directly to me through him. It was based solely on walking by faith and not sight; He talked a lot about Genesis, primarily Joseph's journey from being enslaved to becoming the ruler of Egypt. It was powerful and just what I needed to hear, because although Joseph's brothers placed him into slavery out of spite, he never resented them or want revenge when they came to Egypt needing food and help.

When you are going throw in storm or trial, never think that you are alone. Disappointment doesn't mean that God has disappeared, nor do they justify disobedience. It's so easy to act out in violet or sexual ways because of situations that have happened to you, but the next time you feel that urge... do the complete opposite; No grand decisions are made based off of impulse, try resisting now and you will be glad you did later.

5 reasons...

You shouldn't hate Valentine's Day
(for Singles)

5.
Cliché. Who wants that perfect love story anyway? Anyway... cliché cliché cliché. Who wants that hero love that saves the day? lol okay who am I kidding? We ALL do ! lol. True enough, Valentine's Day is as cliché as "at the end of the day..." but the fact of the matter is, you hate Valentine's Day because you are single, we are in this together, our time is coming. You will get your Valentine and it will all be worth it... just believe it !

4.
Love yourself. If you are really bothered about today go do something about it. Drop the pity and go treat yourself. You deserve to be spoiled, and who better for the job than yourself? Buy yourself flowers, take yourself out to eat (if you don't want the crowds order takeout), or buy yourself something nice. Besides, people think Valentine's Day is only about a significant other, go out with friends or family... spread the love !

3.
Sales. Those next day Valentine's Day sales are everything ! If your sweet tooth is anything like mine, you better get yo life and get some of that good 50% off candy and stop playin' around. As you can see, the candy I like is slightly expensive so I will definitely be taking advantage lol.

2.
One day. It's one day out of the year, just like Christmas and every other marketable monetary driven holiday. Don't sweat it, it'll be over with before you know it. Don't torture yourself comparing your life to everyone else's, trust me... everything is not what it seems. There are women buying gifts for themselves that have boyfriends and husband lol.

1.
Not your time. So what you don't have a Valentine, maybe you haven't for years... it's okay. Be patient and your time will come, there's no need to hate and be a Debbie Downer about it lol. Know that God is taking his time to send you that special someone so that you are ready and appreciative when he/she does come along.

*** Here's a little something extra for the women, like myself, feeling unappreciated and overlooked on such holidays. This message really spoke to me, keep your morals ladies the right one will wait !
Happy Valentine's Day !

Adventures with Allen: Unexpected Blessings

Often times people associate blessings with monetary value, but if you understand the concept of blessings you know that it has nothing to do with it...follow me. They say you don't know what you've got until it's gone, that saying couldn't be truer. Although I am still working with him, I find myself missing him on the weekends and currently, snow days. He has enriched my life in more ways than one, and I am more appreciative of so much more because of him.

It never seizes to amaze me how God works. He orchestrated things unbeknownst to you, and eventually... it all makes sense. I initially had no idea why God had picked me to work with Allen, but as time as past, now 5 months later, the message is so clear.

The beauty about our relationship is we feed off of each other. There are so many unspoken things between us that just magically syncs. When walking, he likes to have his arm intertwined in mine, like old gentlemen, only in reverse (I guess I am the man lol); And when one arm gets tired he likes to switch to the other side, at first I had no idea what he was doing, but now it's like second nature to switch spots with him. And he's so funny, we often just look at each other and laugh. Let's not forget his singing chops ! When I met him he wanted the radio off, often telling me "Turn that off, I don't like music"; Now he wants it loud so he can hear it, dance and sing along lol.

I guess more than anything we are more comfortable with each other. I have grown to love him, and as my Mom has noticed, I am very protective over him lol. He's basically the little brother I never had, so that's just basic instinct with me in regards to people I love. The thing I love most  about our relationship is we get each other, and it's genuine... especially from his end. When he misses me, he's gonna say it. When he's happy, he's gonna show it. And when he's upset he's gonna let me know and show it lol. It's refreshing to have complete acceptance, and an unbreakable friendship.

Allen is a rare gem. He doesn't let his disability define him, or deter him. I think that his strength and intelligence is beyond what was expected of him. And I'm just grateful to be apart of his life, he has definitely marked a spot on my heart. There is always someone appreciative with less than you have, so be grateful and find the beauty in each day.

is #2 the new #1?

This idea stemmed from a scene on last week's episode of Being Mary Jane. If you've never seen it, you are missing out on good modern-day in-your-face drama lol. Also before you continue reading, you should watch this episode to understand what I'm about to say.

If you're not first, you're last- Ricky Bobby

So there's this new theory that number 2 is the new number 1, not only on Being Mary Jane, but for every day women. Mary Jane is the face of many hardworking professional single women of all races. She is the daughter, the sister, the best friend, and quite possibly your local radio host, TV personality, doctor or teacher. Her girl-next-door vibe makes her relatable, and makes you gravitate to her; but I detached when she became ruthless in episode 4.

It's one thing to date a man and not know he's married, but once you find out he is, you being to take your frustrations out on his wife, who is really the victim. So telling her you have been sleeping with her husband isn't enough, you have to make a subliminal speech about the perks of being number 2. And as sad as it is, there are so many women that think like that. Women that think so little of themselves and have little to no self worth that to them, 2nd place is better than nothing. I'm here to tell you, 2nd will never overpower 1st, never has and never will.

And that's not just for personal relationships, the same goes for business. You've never seen a 2nd place CEO have you? Principal? or President? I think not. The title "Vice" is there for a reason. No one ever strives to be number 2 in life. Who really wakes up and says: "I want to be great but not that great"? I can guarantee you that no one is content being 2nd, not even the Vice President; he wants that number one spot. If you think 2nd is better, you are demoting yourself and your value. Don't be an option, be exceptional. You are worth that 1st place position.

But I want to hear from you all. What do you think? Is it okay with you to be #2? Or can #1 never be replaced? And what are your reasoning's? Comment below !
